PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor improving motor efficiency by making sealing between both scrolls weak during operation to make internal leak in a compression chamber large and make stroke capacity equivalently small and perform high sped operation, and enabling high efficiency operation in a low capacity band. SOLUTION: This scroll compressor has a compression chamber formed in a hermetic vessel by combining a fixed scroll with a rocking scroll, and stores a compression mechanism part sucking low pressure refrigerant gas from a suction pipe and compressing the same in the compression chamber, and an electric motor part driving the compression mechanism part via a drive shaft. A intermediate pressure or high pressure space is formed in an opposite side of the compression chamber of the rocking scroll, and a bypass passage keeping communication between the intermediate or high pressure space and a low pressure space communicating to the suction pipe is provided.
