<p>[Problems] To provide an electronic device for checking the logical format specifications of a recording medium by a nonvolatile semiconductor memory such as a flash EEPROM, and for warning a device user that the format specifications of a memory card do not consider the block constitution of the flash memory. [Means for Solving the Problems] The electronic device comprises a socket (2) for mounting a memory card (1), an I/F unit (3) for reading data from the memory card (1) mounted in the socket (2), a detector (4) for detecting a difference between the position of the boundary of blocks and the position of the boundary of clusters on the basis of the data of the memory card (1) read by the I/F unit (3), an information presenter (6) for displaying or informing information in accordance with the detection result by the detector (4), and a controller (5) for controlling the read of the data from the memory card (1) by the I/F unit (3) and for transmitting the detection result by the detector (4) to the information presenter (6).</p> |
