The drain has an upper round ring-shaped connection part for securing to a wet room floor and a lower bowl-shaped part integrally joined to the connection part and designed to permanently hold a volume of water beneath the floor to act as a water trap. A coupling part is used to connect a wastewater pipe to the bowl-shaped part and is located in a plane extending at 30-60 (45) deg. to the connection part. The bowl-shaped part has a base with a projection towards a plane parallel to the connection part which is partly defined by a circle segment curve. The projection of the base towards this plane is enclosed by a circle with the same midpoint and radius as this segment curve.
