[Also in Division G5] To produce a head-core with a gap 9 not deeper than 25 Á, while maintaining the strength of one with a depth of 150 Á, a recess 5 with a curved end is formed in one ferrite core member 7, filled with glass or the like 6, ground and polished along the line 9 and assembled to a second ferrite core-member 8 with a low melting point enamel of similar coefficient of expansion to the ferrite and forming the transducing gap of some 1 to 2 in length. The assembly is finished to the line 3 and at an earlier or later stage the region 4 is ground out in known manner. |
