The device is one at which function related temperature variations can occur. The component (11) for monitoring temperature variations comprises at least a thermochromic metal. This material is preferably connected to a part of the device where a temperature change occurs, via a metallic heat bridge. The device may be e.g. a connector cable especially a battery connector for accumulator batteries. Independent claims also cover a method of monitoring temperature variations in a device.
