PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding wheel improved in rotating efficiency in working and electric discharge efficiency in electric discharge dressing. SOLUTION: This grinding wheel 1 is provided with an abrasive grain layer 4 on an end surface of a disc type metal base 2 and furnished with a communicating hole 10 to communicate an inner peripheral surface 8 of a recessed part 3 provided in the center of this metal base 2 and an outer peripheral surface 9 of the base metal 2. Additionally, the communicating hole 10 radially extends in a direction separating from the abrasive grain layer 4 of the metal base 2 toward the outer peripheral surface 9 of the metal base 2 from the inner peripheral surface 8 of this recessed part 3.
