PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equivalent Young's modulus calculation method and device with high accuracy using finite element method. SOLUTION: The equivalent young's modulus calculation method for calculating an equivalent young's modulus by forming from a composite having the same longitudinal section a finite element model for numerical analysis of the composite comprises determining a deformation parameter in a case where a boundary condition and a virtual external force are set, and determining the equivalent young's modulus by the determined parameter. This device comprises a means receiving shapes of individual members and a young's modulus from an input device by an arithmetic unit, a means setting a finite element model, a means setting a boundary condition, a means setting a virtual external force, a means determining a deformation parameter by the virtual external force, a means determining an equivalent young's modulus by the deformation parameter, and a means transmitting the equivalent young's modulus to an equivalent young's modulus output device.
