PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the missing of recording by performing a recording end processing at the end of the last recording reserved program by which overlap ends without performing the recording end processing every time the recording of an individual recording reserved program is ended when reserved programs overlap in a recording and reproducing device capable of timer recording reservation of the plurality of programs. SOLUTION: The overlap is detected in a recording reservation overlap detection part 63 arranged in a microcomputer part 60 for controlling recording reservations and an overlap flag F is imparted. The overlap number n of the recording reserved programs to which the overlap flag F is imparted is counted in an overlap number count part 64, and an overlap position is marked in a marking processing part 65 and is stored in a second memory part 70. A recording execution control part 67 determines the marked position T as the start position of the following recording reserved program and executes the recording end processing at the end time of the last recording reserved program, and thus the recording reserved program is instantaneously switched.
