PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide easy installation and flexibility in system operation.

SOLUTION: The optical channel multiplexer in a multi-channel optical transmission system comprises channel generation means (an individual transmitter) for generating a transmission optical channel, and optical band-pass filtering means of an output stage of each transmitter whose center wavelength is the same as a center wavelength of an optical channel signal generated from the channel generation means. By the optical band-pass filtering means, the peak wavelength of a passing signal is the same as the center wavelength of a transmitted optical channel signal, and "the optical channel signal with a wavelength that is other than the center wavelength" inputted from other individual transmitter is reflected without a loss. Consequently, channel multiplexing of "the optical channel signal with the center wavelength" of the individual transmitter and "the optical channel signal with a wavelength that is other than the center wavelength" of the other individual transmitter is achieved.
