PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to complicated representation of electronic ink in a computing system for providing a plurality of alternates to a user so that the user can select which recognition result is correct with respect to hand-written characters. SOLUTION: By arranging the contents of documents into a tree structure, and further, including the alternate representation of text information in the tree structure, so that a software operating system or application is made to easily traverse the tree structure and the alternate proposal can be acquired, when necessary.
