PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile fuel tank having a high fuel permeation preventive property of a joint portion and sufficient stiffness, when an upper tank and a lower tank are separately formed; and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: In the automobile fuel tank 1 formed from an inner surface resinous layer 10 and an outer surface resinous layer 30 made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin, the inner surface resinous layer 10 is formed by separately molding an upper tank portion 11 and a lower tank portion 16 in a split manner, and joining opening peripheral edge portions.
