A leak tester that is inexpensive, small in size, and automatically and highly accurately performs leak determination of an object to be measured. Measurement operation of the leak determination is made in the order of a pressurization step, a balance step, a measurement step, and a gas discharge step. In the pressurization step, volume data of an object (2) to be measured are automatically estimated. The automatic estimation to estimate volume data of the object to be measured including an endoscope (2) is performed not in a transient state but performed in a state after the pressurization is once stopped and the pressure in the endoscope (2) and in piping (13) including a gauge pressure sensor (17) is substantially uniform. In the measurement step, determination is made in which portion of a preset characteristic graph region the volume data and data based on a value of pressure reduction, measured by the gauge pressure sensor (17), in predetermined time lie and a leak state is determined. In this step, when required, an output from the gauge pressure sensor (17) is amplified for observation. |
