PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block for constructing a civil-engineering structure, which contributes to further harmonization of the structure with the circumferential natural landscape.

SOLUTION: According to the structure of the block, a plurality of natural stones 11 are each partially embedded in a concrete base 10 and protruded from a front surface 10a of the concrete base. The concrete base has a gravel layer 12 laid on the front surface 10a thereof, which exhibits fine irregular surface. Thus the gravel layer 12, in cooperation with the natural stones 11, not only harmonizes the block 9 for the civil-engineering structure with the circumferential natural landscape, but also provides a biotope preferable to the flora and fauna in the nature.
