PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device and a driving method thereof. SOLUTION: In the plasma display device, an intermediate electrode is provided between X and Y electrodes applied with a sustain discharge pulse. When a Y electrode driver (or an X electrode driver) applies the sustain pulse voltage during a sustain period, a power source supplying a voltage of Vs/2 is used to raise the voltage up to the voltage of Vs/2 and then a voltage outputted at a prescribed contact of an M electrode driver is used to raise the voltage from the voltage of Vs/2 to a voltage of Vs. Namely, the voltage of a power source used by the drivers applying sustain discharge pulses can be lowered by applying the sustain discharge pulses by using the M electrode driver.
