PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defect detecting circuit which can detect a defect highly accurately and quickly independently of operation speed of an optical disk apparatus. SOLUTION: At high double speed of the optical disk apparatus, a mono multivibrator time adjusting means 9 sets shortly an output period t1 of a mono multivibrator signal NM1 outputted from a mono multivibrator circuit 11 and turning on a switch 6, and shortens the period t1 in which time constant of an integration circuit 3 after switching of operation of the optical disk apparatus from recording operation to reproducing operation is reduced.
