PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer having various molecular weights, densities, molecular weight distributions and component distributions, optionally and with a good productivity. SOLUTION: This method for producing the ethylene-α-olefin copolymer is provided by using at least≥1 kind each of (A) a metallocene catalyst satisfying general formula (a): r=C<SB>poly</SB>/C<SB>rea</SB>≥0.08 and (B) a metallocene catalyst satisfying general formula (b): r=C<SB>poly</SB>/C<SB>rea</SB><0.08, and copolymerizing the ethylene with a 2-20Cα-olefin under a polymerization condition at a temperature at or higher than the melting point of the copolymer and 40-400 MPa pressure.
