PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for continuously annealing a steel sheet for hot dip galvanizing with which the whole length space in a steel sheet line for galvanizing can be saved in comparison with the conventional apparatus and also, the higher reducing effect and higher cooling rate can be obtained. SOLUTION: In the continuous annealing apparatus of steel sheet for hot dip galvanizing, in which a preheating zone 1, a heating zone 2, a reducing zone 3, a slow cooling zone 4, and rapid cooling zone 5 are continuously arranged, an oxidizing range is formed at the inlet side of the steel sheet for hot dip galvanizing, and successively, a reducing range for reducing the oxidized film generated on the steel sheet surface for hot dip galvanizing in the oxidizing range, is formed, the high speed hydrogen gas jet having high concentration, is injected on the steel sheet surface for galvanizing, with a high speed gas jet cooler arranged at the rapid cooling zone 5 in the reducing range.
