COATING HAVING FORMALDEHYDE DECOMPOSITION ACTIVITY IN GAS PHASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating which has an excellent activity of decomposing and removing a trace of formaldehyde contained in the air which causes the sick house syndrome and ammonia and, in addition, sterilizing Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli bacteria by dispersing a fine powder of natural zirconium ore which generates negative ions in the coating. SOLUTION: The coating contains a product containing fine particles obtained by crushing, mixing, firing and pulverizing a heavy mineral concentrate, pure zircon and the like containing uranium series nuclide elements or thorium series nuclide elements. The coating has an activity of decomposing formaldehyde and ammonia contained in a gas phase and sterilizing Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli bacteria. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
