<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor excellent in the hermetical closing properties of a cover on its atmospheric side. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor 1 has a sensor element 2 for detecting the concentration of the specific gas in a gas to be measured, a housing 11 in which the sensor element 2 is inserted and fitted to be held, the cover 3 provided on its atmospheric side to be arranged to the base end side of the housing 11, the lead wire 12 electrically connected to the sensor element 2 and an elastic insulating member 4 permitting the insertion of the lead wire 12 and hermetically closing the base end part 34 of the cover 3 on the atmospheric side. The cover 3 on the atmospheric side has a caulking part 31 for caulking the elastic insulating member 4 from a diametric direction on the leading end side of the center in the axial direction of the elastic insulating member 4 and a ceiling part 32 for pressing the elastic insulating member 4 from the base end side of the housing 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
