<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redox flow battery having high reliability by controlling each circulation pump so that the pressure difference between a positive electrode electrolyte and a negative electrode electrolyte is present in a prescribed range. <P>SOLUTION: The redox flow battery is equipped with a battery cell 1 to which the positive electrode electrolyte and the negative electrode electrolyte are supplied, a positive electrode tank 21 and a negative electrode tank 22 both storing an electrolyte, a positive electrode electrolyte circulation passage 3 and a negative electrode electrolyte circulation passage 4 circulating the electrolyte between the battery cell and the tank, a positive electrode side circulation pump 51 and a negative electrode side circulation pump 52 installed on the way of each electrolyte circulation passage, pressure sensors 61, 62 measuring the pressure of the electrolyte flowing through each circulation passage, and a controller 7 calculates the pressure difference between the positive electrode electrolyte and the negative electrode electrolyte by signals from the pressure sensors and controls the number of revolutions of each circulation pump according to the pressure difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
