PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which has excellent light emission characteristics and durability. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the organic light emitting element which has at least one organic layer including a light emission layer between a couple of electrodes, the organic electric field light emitting element being characterized in that the organic layer contains a compound expressed by general formula (1). In formula (1), Q<SP>1</SP>represents an atom group forming a ring including nitrogen atoms and carbon atoms. Further, M<SP>1</SP>represents a metal ion which may have a ligand or a boron ion.
