PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct misalignment in the transporting distance of a paper sheet in a sub-scanning direction in a recording device, to transport the paper sheet more precisely, thereby to improve recording quality. SOLUTION: The number of correction execution corresponding to a recording mode is obtained in advance by testing a printer, and the number of correction execution mode corresponding to the recording mode is selected upon printing (step S11). When printing is started, accumulated transporting number NA accumulated from initiation of usage of the printer is read and counted (steps S12 and S13). After printing in a main scanning direction is performed (step S14), NA is compared with the number of correction execution. If they are equal to each other, transport of a transporting distance (α'+ε) in which a correction distanceεis added to a normal transporting distanceα' of one time is performed in the sub-scanning direction (step S17).
