PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and inexpensively producing fluorine-containing sulfonyl fluoride compounds having various molecular structures by solving difficulties associated with its production. SOLUTION: The method for producing a fluorine-containing sulfonyl fluoride compound comprises oxidizing a compound represented by the formula: R<SP>B</SP>-E-R<SP>A</SP>-S-S-R<SP>A</SP>-E-R<SP>B</SP>(R<SP>A</SP>is a bifunctional organic group or the like; R<SP>B</SP>is a monofunctional organic group; E is -COOCH<SB>2</SB>) (1) to give a compound represented by the formula: XSO<SB>2</SB>-R<SP>A</SP>-E-R<SP>B</SP>(X is a halogen atom) (2), reacting the compound with fluorine in a liquid phase to give a compound represented by the formula: FSO<SB>2</SB>-R<SP>AF</SP>-E<SP>F</SP>-R<SP>BF</SP>(R<SP>AF</SP>is a bifunctional organic group or the like; R<SP>BF</SP>is a monofunctional organic group or the like; E<SP>F</SP>is -COOCF<SB>2</SB>) and decomposing the compound to give a compound represented by the formula: FSO<SB>2</SB>-R<SP>AF</SP>-COF.
