PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make efficient bus forwarding of color data differing in number of colors and number of effective bits of each color component. SOLUTION: Image data are stored in buffer areas X1 to X4 by color components. Effective data lengths of respective color components, the bus width of a bus, and the number of the color components are inputted to a table 21, and a bus connection mode is set based upon them. A state counter 23 generates a state signal for connecting image data of the respective color components by clocks based upon the mode. On the basis of the mode and state signal, addresses of the image data of the respective color components are generated from the buffer areas X1 to X4 to read the data from the buffer areas X1 to X4. A connection section 28 selectively connects the image data of the respective components outputted from the buffer areas X1 to X4 on the basis of the mode and state signal and outputs the resulting data to the bus 4.
