[Also in Division E2] A fastener 1 comprises a plate 2 formed with a slot 7 and with means 6 for attaching the plate to a support 11, and a resilient finger 8 comprising a strip of elastic material having a portion compressed between the edges of the slot 7 in the plate with the material adjacent the compressed portion overlying the surfaces of the plate adjacent the slot, and a remote free end adapted to co-operate with the plate in engaging a member 9 and securing the member 6 at support 11. As shown, the finger 8 is attached to the plate 2 by means of a punch 17 by which the finger 8 is driven through a slot 16 in an upper die 15 and is thereby compressed to enter the slot 7 in the plate, which is disposed on a lower die 12 overlying a platen 13. |
