The machine has a cylindrical rotor (1) with discs (11) having cuts (12) aligned to form notches (2) inserted with longitudinal rotor bars (6). Each bar is assembled with the notch by male/female assemblies located in assembling zones (8) on the rotor. Each assembly has a male part (9) or a female part pertaining to the notches having a constant section outside the zones. Each notch does not have any male/female part outside the zones. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rotor for a rotating machine.
