PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine for vehicle which is easy in production and design, and can stabilize an engine with few troubles and at low cost. SOLUTION: An alternator 1 for vehicle as a rotary electric machine for vehicle has a pulley 102 to which rotating drive force is transmitted from the engine, a rotor 3 rotary-driven integrally with the pulley 102, and a stator 2 wound with an armature winding. The rotor 3 is provided with a Randel type pole core 7 supplying a rotation magnetic flux to the stator 2, a magnetic inertia body 31 constituted of magnetic materials which are rotatably connected to a shaft 6, and an energizing source 32 which rotates integrally with the Randel type pole core 7 and supplies magnetic flux to the magnetic inertia body 31.
