<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for decomposing a polymer that efficiently decompose the polymer neither by the use of any medium nor by means of indirect heating and are industrially useful, and to provide a method for recovering a decomposition product of a polymer that can recover the decomposition product of the polymer in a high yield. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for decomposing the polymer is provided with a reactor 11 for containing the polymer and an infrared ray generator 13 spaced apart from the polymer. The method for decomposing the polymer comprises irradiating the polymer with infrared rays from the infrared ray generator 13 and heating the polymer to decompose the polymer. The method for recovering the decomposition product of the polymer comprises liquefying the gaseous decomposition product produced by the above-mentioned method for decomposing the polymer to recover the decomposition product of the polymer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
