PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid looseness of fastening force by maintaining its fastening state, by adjusting fastening between a holding frame and a screw bar, while mutually engaging a screw bar and a fastening base, in a turnbuckle used when constituting a brace by pulling a tie rod. SOLUTION: This turnbuckle has the screw bar 5 threadedly engaged with the holding frame 4, capable of advancing/retreating along the axis of itself and continuously arranging a noncircular projection 52 in a tip part, the fastening base 6 having a through-hole 62 positioned on the same axis as its screw bar 5 and having a minimum inner diameter larger than a maximum outer diameter of the noncircular projection 52, and arranged in the holding frame 4 so that the noncircular projection 52 can be fitted to and separated from its through-hole 62, and a fastener 72 projecting in the through-hole 62 from an inner surface of the through-hole 62 so as to be capable of protruding and retreating and engaging with an end part of the maximum outer diameter in the noncircular projection 52 so as to allow relative rotation in the screw bar advancing direction of the mutual fastening base 6 and screw bar 5 and check the relative rotation in the retreat direction when fitting the through-hole 62 to the noncircular projection 52.
