<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture display apparatus, an information display method, and an information display program whereby contents of a recorded broadcast program can easily be grasped. <P>SOLUTION: A second control section 22 accesses a card medium 331, reads the information or the like of a moving picture file of the ASF system stored in the card medium 331, acquires a title from header information and stores the information to a RAM 24. A companding processing section 25 decodes a head frame of the moving picture file of the ASF system, decodes the picture, allows a display section 6 to display thumbnail pictures of the moving picture file of the ASF system on a thumbnail display area 600.
