PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet which has excellent printing properties in high-speed printing and excels in releasability from a thermal transfer ink sheet and adhesion to a protective sheet and also in blocking resistance even after a long-time storage, and a manufacturing method thereof.

SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer image receiving sheet having one or more image receiving layers on a base, at least one of the image receiving layers is formed by aqueous coating by using a coating liquid of which the viscosity V1at 40°C is 200 mPa s or less and the viscosity V2at 15°C is twenty or more times higher than the viscosity V1.
