PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic device which prevents spreading of sounds to an adjacent room or the like and efficiently generates good quality sounds. SOLUTION: A vibration actuator 11 is arranged at the room outer side of a surface material (an inspection port cover 3 of a bathroom ceiling, for example) facing the inner side of a room and a sound shielding material 15 is arranged to cover the surface material 3. For the sound shielding material 15, a sound absorbing material such as sponge or the material, which is made by alternatively laminating vibration proof rubber and a hard plate material so that vibration is hardly transmitted, can be used. By the sound shielding material 15, a region in which the vibrating region of the surface material 3 does not contact with the outer surface of the room can be formed. Thus, sound is shielded for the outer surface of the room and no sound is leaked out to the adjacent room or the like. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
