PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of failure owing to expansion and contraction of a main pipe in a exhaust gas manifold in which a branch pipe running to each cylinder is installed in the metal main pipe extending in the crank axis direction in the multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, a common flange fixed to the top end of each branch pipe is installed in the longitudinal side of the internal combustion engine, while a joint to an exhaust gas purifier, etc., is installed at least one end in the main pipe. SOLUTION: In the exhaust manifold, the main pipe 4 is comprised of an upstream pipe piece 19 at the upstream side and a downstream pipe piece 18 at the downstream side bordering the portion between the joint and the branch pipe 7 nearest to the joint out of each pipe, and both are mutually jointed. The upstream pipe piece and the downstream pipe piece are curved in a dog leg shape in the portion between the joint and the branch pipe nearest to the joint out of each branch pipe.
