PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce fine particles with a particle size of 100 nm order and with narrow particle size distribution, by realizing finer orifice and simply removing nozzle blockage. SOLUTION: A stainless steel needle 1 is inserted into the nozzle 2 to penetrate through the nozzle outlet. By holding the needle 1 on the central axis, a fine orifice 3 is formed, keeping clearance of severalμm between the inner wall of the nozzle outlet and outer wall of the needle 1. The supercritical fluid 4 flowing out of a spiral groove 5 is swirlingly spayed out of the orifice 3, to form small droplets of nano or micrometer size.
