PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive liquid filter comprising semi-carbonized fiber spun yarn, which uses novoloid fibers as a precursor, adapted in order to remove solid foreign matter especially present in a high temperature highly corrosive acidic solution, suitable for removing and filtering the foreign matter from the high temperature acidic liquid and easily to be processed. SOLUTION: The liquid filter is constituted by winding the semi-carbonized fiber spun yarn with a carbon element content of≥70% and <90%, which is obtained by heat-treating spun yarn containing novoloid fibers as precursor, around a bobbin.
