PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive supporting device enabling a user to correctly grasp the relationship between a car and an obstacle around the car. SOLUTION: An overhead image generating unit 108 generates an image obtained from a picked-up image of cameras 101-104 to pick up images around a vehicle when the images are picked up from the view point above the car by implementing the conversion and the synthesis of the view point, and generates an overhead image 310 to indicate the periphery of the car in an overhead manner together with a pattern 311 to indicate the car by arranging the pattern to indicate the car on the synthesized image, and displays it on a display device 107 via a display processing unit 111. A caution image generating unit 110 generates a caution image 331 by extracting an image of an area including the images of a part of the vehicle and the obstacle from the picked-up images stored in an image memory 105 if the obstacle is detected by an obstacle sensor 106, and displays it at the position on the overhead image 310 corresponding to the position of the obstacle via the display processing unit 111.
