The power supply has a vehicle electrical system controller (4) that determines the current power state of the vehicle and at least one load (3.1,3.2) that is switched on and/or off according to the detected state of the electrical system. An evaluation unit (SG) associated with each load switches the associated loads on and/or off depending on the current environmental state including the current energy state and all load priorities and load states. The evaluation units exchange information relative to the current environmental state via a communications channel. An independent claim is also included for a power distribution method.
