FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy; electrolytic production of aluminum. ^ SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of nonferrous metallurgy, in particular, to electrolytic production of aluminum and may be used at mounting of the cathode unit of the aluminum electrolytic bath. The technical result of the invention is elimination of penetration of the vapors of sodium and other components of fluorine salts and the melted aluminum into the heat-insulating layers of the cathode lining. Lining of the cathode section of the aluminum electrolytic bath includes the hearth sections and the refractory layer made out of the powder, and the heat-insulating layer. According to the invention the refractory layer consists of the powder of the aluminum silicate composition with the share of aluminum oxide of 27-35 %, which has density of no less than 79-80% from the value of the true density and contains the following fractions (in mass %): 3-1 mm - 38.0-38.4; 1-0.5 mm - 23.5-23.7; 0.5-0.1 mm - 14.5-14.7; less than 0.1 mm - 23.4-23.6. ^ EFFECT: the invention ensures elimination of penetration of the vapors of sodium and other components of fluorine salts and the melted aluminum into the heat-insulating layers of the cathode lining. ^ 3 dwg, 1 tbl |
