A first routing domain (AS1) communicates a change in an inter-domain route to second (AS2) and third (AS3) routing domains. Adapted in accordance with a route change, resource reservations (F1-F4) are then communicated to the AS1 by the AS2 and AS3, where they are brought together so as to be forwarded on to a fourth routing domain (AS8). An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the method of the present invention.
