摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device preventing increase in the size of a first electric motor taking charge of reaction torque relative to engine torque, in a vehicle drive device provided with a differential mechanism enabling a differential action for distributing engine output to the first electric motor and an output shaft and with the electric motor arranged on a power transmitting path from the differential mechanism to a driving wheel. <P>SOLUTION: At start of a vehicle driven by an engine 8, since the engine torque T<SB>E</SB>is restricted by a start time engine torque restriction means 86, output of the first electric motor M1 taking charge of reaction torque relative to the engine torque T<SB>E</SB>can be reduced in comparison with the case where the engine torque T<SB>E</SB>is not restricted.
