PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of measuring sideslipping situations without giving excitation, in addition to a means of directly measuring the gripping situations of tires. SOLUTION: By attaching a tire rotational speed sensor consisting of a detection gearwheel and a magnetic sensor to a rotating shaft of the tire and applying an analysis to the output from the tire rotational speed sensor concerned in the frequency domain, the gripping situations of the tire or the slip ratio and the slip angle are obtained from the detection of vibration excited from slipping. Utilizing causal association between the slip occurrence of tire and the occurrence of rotational fluctuations, the tire slippage can be detected directly, based on the detection of the rotational fluctuations.
