PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that facilitates a jam treatment by releasing a couple of rollers of a fixing device from being pressed even when a paper feed unit is drawn out and when a paper discharge cover is opened. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus, equipped with a pressing means 24 of pressing a lower heat roller 23 against an upper heat roller 22, the paper feed unit 7 which is provided to freely be drawn out in the opposite direction to a form conveying direction of a paper feed side, and the paper discharge cover 25 which is supported on a paper discharge side flank of a primary image forming apparatus body 20 to freely be opened and closed and has a guide rib 42, includes a locking member 38 which locks a pressure lever 32 to a pressurization position and an unlocking member 59 which presses the lock member 38 up against an energizing force when the paper feed unit 7 is drawn out, the guide rib 42 of the paper discharge cover 25 abutting against the lock member 38 when the paper discharge cover 25 is at a closing posture to press the lock member 38 up against the energizing force through the opening operation of the paper discharge cover 25.
