METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING IRON OXIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing iron oxide from a pickling waste liquid of steel by spray roasting method. SOLUTION: Iron oxide is manufactured by the spray roasting method carried out by blowing a combustion gas containing oxygen to the inside of a roasting chamber from a tubular flame burner which is arranged outside of the roasting chamber and is provided with a tubular combustion chamber, a fuel blowing nozzle and an oxygen-containing gas blowing nozzle opened to the inside surface of the combustion chamber so that the jetting direction of the fuel blowing nozzle and the oxygen-containing gas blowing nozzle is along the tangential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the combustion chamber and colliding it with the pickling waste liquid of steel blown to the roasting chamber from a spray nozzle. The oxygen-containing gas and the fuel gas are blown from the outside of the roasting chamber to the inside along the tangential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the roasting chamber to be burned in the roasting chamber to form the swirling flow of the combustion gas and the combustion gas is made to collide with the pickling waste liquid of the steel which is sprayed into the roasting chamber.
