A spring starter has means which are brought into operation after starting, by rotation of the engine member, to produce an automatic reloading of the spring power source 7. A free wheel device 9, 9a, 9b and a differential gear are arranged in parallel between a coupling member 6 and an engine member 4 and arranged to be brought into operation alternately. During starting the coupling member is coupled to the engine member through the free wheel device and during reloading is coupled to the engine member through the differential gearing. The differential gearing may comprise a friction roller gearing comprising an arrestible planet wheel carrier 11, or other planetary gearing. A modification incorpating a centrifugally operated actuating bolt is described. |
