PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-aligning bearing which hardly exhibits abnormality in a collar of an outer ring. SOLUTION: The self-aligning bearing is equipped with an alignment ring 1 having a spherical inner peripheral surface 1a, an outer ring 2 whose outer peripheral surface is a spherical surface fitted to the inner peripheral surface 1a of the alignment ring 1 and which is provided with radially inward collars 5, 5 at both axial ends, an inner ring 3 and a plurality of cylindrical rollers 4. The ratio (A/T) of the width A of a raceway surface 2b in the outer ring 2 to the width T of the outer ring 2 is between 0.65 and 0.75. The ratio (H/A) of the cross-sectional length H from the corner point X of the outer ring raceway surface 2b and the inner surface of the collar 5 to a slide-contact inner diameter point Y of the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 2 and the inner peripheral surface 1a of the alignment ring 1 with respect to the width A of the raceway surface 2b is not less than 0.16.
