摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift control device for an automatic transmission capable of detecting reliably a blow-up and shifting to a control for suppressing the blow-up even when an input rotation speed changes. SOLUTION: In the shift control device for an automatic transmission 2 making a hydraulic pressure for a friction engaging element controlled to increase a turbine rotation speed at a prescribed speed increment during a shift toward the side of slow speed level while the shifting is carried out by switching the engaging/releasing of plural friction engaging elements, a turbine rotation speed T3 at the time of engaging the side of slow speed level is computed, a blow-up occurrence is detected based on the rise condition of the turbine rotation speed within the prescribed time starting from the output of the engaging hydraulic pressure to a friction engaging element C2 at the engaging side and ending upon the reach of the turbine rotation speed T3 at the above engaging time, and the rising ratio of the hydraulic pressure applied to the friction engaging element C2 at the engaging side detected at the blow-up occurrence is made larger than the rising ratio within the above prescribed time.
