The technique of sewing the laparotomic wound comprises the use of the uninterrupted twisted suture for sewing the peritoneum, the sealing aponeurotic suture û for sewing the aponeurosis, and the interrupted suture for sewing the skin. The interrupted suture is performed by applying two interrupted peritoneal-aponeurotic sutures. The ends of the threads are caught by the forceps; the applied sutures are tied up by the surgical knot. The end of the thread of the first suture is tied up with the end of the thread of the second suture, and the ends of the threads are again caught by the forceps. The next suture is applied and the ends are again tied up. Then the end of the thread of one suture ism tried up with the free end of the thread of the following suture. In such a way, the whole laparotomic wound is sewed up. Upon sewing the aponeurosis, the ends of the threads of the aponeurotic suture are cut off. Finally, the skin is sewed by the interrupted suture.
