A method of watering young animals of cattle includes watering with aqueous mixture of a whole milk substitute (WMS). The watering of calves is carried out from the 3-25-day age and elder, training continues 3-10 days. At the stage of training a WMS:whole milk mixture is used for 3-10 days with a WMS content from 5 to 50%. In the following 10-50 days a WMS mixture is used, whole milk with a content of WMS of 50%, and then gradually in the course of no more than 5 days the content of the whole milk is lowered up to full exclusion thereof and an aqueous mixture is used with a WMS:water ratio equal to 1:(8-18).
