A pulley assembly (1) comprising a hub (2) with an axis (A) and adapted to be rigidly connected to a rotating shaft (3) of an engine assembly, a turning annular pulley (10) of ferromagnetic material supported at least indirectly on the hub (2), a ring (9) of electrically conducting material rotationally connected to the hub (2), and at least a pair of magnets (16, 17) rigidly connected to the pulley (10) and facing the ring (9) . The pulley (10) defines a cavity (11) accomodating said ring (9) .
