PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition or the like meeting a plurality of such properties as high upper limit temperature, low lower limit temperature, low viscosity, proper optical anisotropy, low threshold voltage, sharp voltage-transmittance curve, temperature dependency of low threshold voltage and frequency dependency of low dielectric constant anisotropy. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition comprises at least one compound as a 1st component selected from compounds(1), at least one compound as a 2nd component selected from compounds(2) and compounds(3) and at least one compound as a 3rd component selected from compounds(4).
